The Ring round the Volga region
Dag 1
We meet you at the airport or the railway station and take you to the hotel. You have some free time in order to relax from the trip to Volgograd. You may have lunch at the hotel restaurant which is quite comfortable and nice. Or you may have lunch at some restaurant with a typically Russian cuisine and be accompanied by our tour managers. Then take on the fascinating excursion “The hero-city of Volgograd” visiting the main tourist attractions of Volgograd (former Stalingrad). Finish your first day in Volgograd with a nice and cozy family dinner and enjoy the hospitality of the Russian people.
Dag 2
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Then choose one of the most interesting excursions: “The energetic giant upon Volga” (you will see Europe’s greatest hydroelectric power station and the city of Volzhskiy, a city-sputnik of Volgograd); “The crossroads of the five seas” (you will learn why Volgograd is considered to be a port of the five seas and see the wonderful Volga-Don channel), “The German colony” (you will visit the former settlement of Germans, the German chapel, the German library and many other interesting places). Have lunch in a cozy café. Enjoy the warm (and sometimes very hot) Russian sun on a sandy beach on the bank of the Volga. You can have a walk along the central streets of Volgograd by yourself or visit the Mamaev Hill in the evening (it looks so beautiful with all those lights highlighting the main sculptures of the great memorial). Have dinner in a nice café trying local food
Dag 3
Enjoy your early breakfast at the hotel and prepare to the 6-hour-trip to Uryupinsk – the heart of the Russian province. During this long trip you may have a curious excursion to the “Cossack Farm” (optional) and then have a light picnic in some picturesque spot. Arrive in Uryupinsk and meet a friendly family that will host you at their home and arrange a delicious family dinner for you.
Dag 4
Enjoy a typically Russian breakfast. Set up on a wonderful sightseeing tour around Uryupinsk. Have a delicious Russian lunch. Experience a traditional Russian banya (sauna). Have a Russian dinner. (The meals in the village differ from those in the city.)
Dag 5
Have a tasty breakfast. Visit stanitsa (Cossack village) Mikhaylovskaya. Sunbathe on the beach on the bank of the purest river in Europe – the Khopyor, and savour the traditional Russian shashlyki (barbecue). Have a light dinner prepared by the host family especially for you.
Dag 6
Have breakfast and set on the ecological excursion to “Shemyakinskaya Dacha” – one of the natural monuments of the Volgograd region. Have lunch and visit stanitsa (Cossack village) Nekhayevskaya. Arrive to khutor (small Cossack village) Larinskiy. Have a delicious dinner.
Day 7
Have breakfast and set on the most interesting excursions to the oldest Cossack villages – stanitsa Zotovskaya and stanitsa Alekseyevskaya. Sunbathe on the beach and have a light picnic. Enjoy a traditional Russian dinner in the village.
Dag 8
Enjoy your early breakfast and get ready for the departure to Rudnya. After lunch you will have one of the most wonderful excursions to the bee-yard, where you will be able to taste different kinds of honey. Have a delicious dinner.
Dag 9
Have breakfast and depart to Kamyshin. Register at the hotel and take a sightseeing tour around the city of Kamyshin. Have lunch and set on the interesting excursion to the natural monument – “Kamyshinskiye Ushy”. Have dinner in a cozy café.
Dag 10
Have breakfast at the hotel. Set on the wonderful excursion to the Sherbakovskaya Balka (hollow). Savour the most delicious shashlyki. Return to Kamyshin and have a light dinner in the café.
Dag 11
Have breakfast at the hotel. Go on a sightseeing excursion to the river Danilovka. Depart to the Natural Park “Volgo-Akhtubinskaya Poyma”. Have a light picnic during the trip. Register at the guest house “Beresta”. Sunbathe on a sandy beach. Enjoy your dinner.
Dag 12
Have breakfast and set on the excursion – “Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Volgo-Akhtubinskaya Poyma”. Have lunch in one of the small towns situated in the Natural Park. Enjoy the beautiful nature of the park while having your free time. Dinner in the restaurant.
Dag 13
Have breakfast and set on the excursion to the “Volzhskaya Venice”. Have picnic in a picturesque place. Enjoy the rest of the day lying on the sandy beach on the bank of the longest river in Europe – the Volga. Dinner in the restaurant.
Dag 14
Have breakfast and return to Volgograd. After the registration at the hotel you will have a wonderful opportunity to walk along the beautiful streets of Volgograd and search for the souvenirs for your family and friends. Have a delicious dinner in a nice café.
Dag 15
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. We take you to the airport or the railway station.
