Day 1Friday CASABLANCA / BAMAKO
Upon arrival via Royal Air Maroc at 00:55. Transfer to hotel for overnight..
AM: Breakfast at hotel followed by the city tour of Bamako: the view point, the national museum, the recycling market and the handicraft market. Lunch at San Toro, a local restaurant famous for its African speciality and its gallery next door.
PM: visit of some monuments of the city to learn about the history of the country.
Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Saturday BAMAKO / TIMBUKTU
AM: Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Airport for your flight to Timbuktu.
Upon arrival to Timbuktu around 10:35, commence the city tour of Timbuktu including the three mosques: Djingueraiber, Sidi Yahiya and Sankoré; the explorers’ houses; the museum and the market. Drive to hotel for installation and lunch.
PM: excursion on Camel back to the desert to visit a Touareg encampment and take part in their welcome tea ceremony. This opportunity gives us the chance to see the beautiful sunset in the desert. Drive or ride back to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Sunday TIMBUKTU / MOPTI
PM: Full breakfast at hotel and transfer to airport for your flight domestic flight to Mopti « the Venice of Mali »
Upon arrival to Mopti, transfer to town for the city tour: the Fulani quarter, the vegetable market and the Komoguel mosque renovated by the Aga Khan network; and the fishing port. We walk to Restaurant Bar Bozo for lunch.
PM: Drive to hotel for installation. River cruise on Bani and Niger River to discover the Bozo encampments and the way they smoke fishes. Ride back to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Monday MOPTI /DJENNE / MOPTI
AM: Breakfast at hotel followed by departure to Djenne. Upon arrival, visit of the archaeological museum, houses, a mud cloth centre, the weekly market and the mosque, the biggest mud monument in the world and the tomb of the young girl walled up alive for the prosperity and protection of the city. Lunch at hotel.
PM : 02hours free to discover the market. .
At 03:00 PM: meeting in front of the hotel and depart Djenne for Mopti. Upon arrival, installation at hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 Tuesday MOPTI / SANGHA
AM: Breakfast at hotel followed by departure to the fascinating world « Dogon country » Enroute, visit of Songho, a Dogon village famous for it circumcision cave and rock paintings. Continuation to Sangha. Upon arrival installation at hotel and lunch.
PM : Visit on foot of two quarters Sangha Ogol Ley and Ogol dah to discover their believes through fetish houses, Guina or ancestral house, the granaries, women houses, the toguna or meeting place. Walk back to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 Wednesday SANGHA / IRELI / BANANI / SANGHA / BANDIAGARA
AM: Breakfast at hotel followed by departure to Ireli. A beautiful village on the flanc of the cliffs. Visit of their beautiful Toguna. Meet our vehicles and drivers down the village. We drive To Amani and visit the sacred crocodiles’ pound and drive to Banani for an optional visit of this village. Continuation to Sangha for lunch at hotel Guina
PM: Organisation of the masque dance (in option) and continuation to Bandiagara at hotel Cheval Blanc or Hotel la Falaise. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7 Thursday BANDIAGARA / KANI KOMBOLE / TELI / ENDE / BANDIAGARA
AM: Full breakfast at hotel and drive to other places in the Dogon Country. Drive to Kani Kombolé a historical village for all the Dogon, because it has been the point where they arrived together and separated, visit the mosque at the foot of the cliffs, and continuation to Teli a Dogon village that has been converted to Islam. Visit their mosque, the Tellem Houses renovated by the culture department of Mali. Drive to Ende. Upon arrival, installation at “chez Aly” for lunch.
PM: Visit of the village perched at the flank of the cliffs. It is artisan village where you will discover Dogon artefacts. Drive back to Bandiagara for dinner and overnight.
Kani Kombolé est un village historique pour l’ensemble des Dogon car il constitue leur premier point de chute dans leur migration du Pays Manding. Teli, un autre village dogon islamisé qui est descendu dans la plaine et leur jolie mosquée. Continuation sur Endé un vrai village artisanal En pays dogon. Déjeuner au Campement chez Aly.
PM: Drive back to Bandiagara for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Friday: BANDIAGARA / SEGOU
AM: Breakfast at hotel followed by departure to Segou. On the way, visit of some Bobo villages: Ganga an authentic Bobo village where you will discover their granaries. Upon arrival in San, capital of the Bobo country, lunch in Teriya a local restaurant and the best before you reach Segou.
PM: Visit of Terekoungo, another Bobo village to learn much about the ethnical group through the fetish houses, the sacred well and the millet beer cooking procedure. Continuation to Segou.
Upon arrival, installation at hotel Auberge; dinner and overnight.
Day 9 Saturday: SEGOU / BAMAKO
AM: Breakfast at hotel followed by the city tour of Segou: the carpet centre NIELENI the market, the colonial buildings. Continuation to Sekoro ancient capital of the Bambara Kingdom of Segou in 18th century. In this village you will discover the royal vestibule, the justice Palace, the tomb of the king Biton Mamary COULIBALY and the mosque he built for his mother. Continuation to Bamako.
En route visit of Wolodo, another Bambara village to see the technique of extracting the shea butter.
Upon arrival in Bamako drive to a local restaurant for lunch at San Toro a restaurant very famous for its African speciality and the gallery.
PM: Free for shopping. Dinner and overnight at hotel
Day 10 Sunday BAMAKO / DEPART
Breakfast in room service at hotel followed by transfer to airport for your return flight via Royal Air Maroc at 06:45 end of services.
