Arrival at airport Accra / transfer to KASAPA Centre
Dag 2
Beach day (at a hotel beach 8 km from KASAPA Centre)
Dag 3
To Elmina (Slave Castle Sao Jorge da Mina, Elmina town with historic buildings and canoe harbour). Overnight at KoSa beach resort at Ampenyi Beach, ca. 30 km west of Elmina)
Dag 4
Beach morning at KoSa, then towards Kakum National Park (about 1 ½ hrs drive). Stopover at Hans Cottage botel at Hans Botel for afternoon and dinner (tour guide and driver are checking the jungle camp in Kakum National Park meanwhile. - After dinner ca. 20 min. drive to Kakum National Park, overnight in jungle camp there (with mosquito tents and inflatable sleeping mats)
Dag 5
Early morning: Kakum National Park's famous Canopy walk plus hiking trail (about 1 hr.) through the rainforest. Back to Cape Coast (ca. 40 min. drive) for shower and breakfast at Kokodo Guesthouse. Then westwards to Axim; arrival at Axim Beach Hotel early enough for an afternoon swim.
Dag 6
Late morning from Axim Beach Hotel westwards to Beyin (about 1 ½ hrs. drive) – starting point for a (ca 80 min.) canoe trip to the village on stilts Nzulezo. Overnight there in KASAPA-owned traditional stilt houses
Dag 7
After breakfast departure: from Nzulezo to Beyin per canoe, then driving eastwards back to Cape Coast. Overnight at Kokodo Guesthouse
Dag 8
After breakfast stroll through the historic town area of Cape Coast; visit to Cape Coast Castle museum and crafts market. After lunch departure to Mesomagor, about 2 hrs. drive- Traditional story telling evening with part of the village's Bamboo Orchestra ensemble and village people
Dag 9
Farmland stroll: learning about crops and farming methods, tasting fresh palmwine at a palmwine tapping station in the “bush”. - In the afternoon: performance of the Bamboo Orchestra and its dance ensemble
Dag 10
Visit to a smaller village nearby, learning more about village life and rural production methods. - After lunch driving towards Kumasi (max. 4 hrs. drive) up to Lake Point Guesthouse at Lake Busumtwi – our accommodation for the next 3 nights.
Dag 11
Relaxed morning at Lake Busumtwi. After lunch: to Bonwire (about 1 1,5 hrs. drive), a famous traditional kente weaving village. Back to Lake Point Guesthouse
After breakfast to Kumasi (1 – 1,5 hrs. drive, depending on traffic situation): extensive stroll through Kumasi Central Market. Then Kumasi Cultural Centre (lunch, crafts exhibitions, museum). Back to Lake Point Guesthouse
Dag 12
Back to KASAPA Centre (all in all ca. 5,5 – 6 hrs, with intermediate stops). On the way (ca. 20 km south-east from Kumasi): visiting the traditional fetish shrine at Ejisu-Besease, UNESCO World Heritage Site
Dag 13
Sight seing tour through Accra or village tour through Nyanyano (KASAPA Centre's local community) and visit to one of the local schools
Dag 14
Transfer from KASAPA Centre to airport Accra / departure
